RPLVB Hosting 2014 FBA Meetings & Trade Show

The Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl staff is playing host this week not to a pair of football teams but instead to teams of folks involved in and around the college football postseason as the annual Football Bowl Association (FBS) Meetings & Trade Show will take place Tuesday through Thursday at The Palazzo Hotel.

Bowl game staffs, TV executives, NCAA officials and conference personnel will be among those in attendance on the World Famous Las Vegas Strip.

Big Ten Commissioner Jim Delaney is the first day’s keynote speaker, NCAA Senior Vice President Mark Lewis will address the group on Wednesday and ESPN President John Skipper will deliver his message on Thursday. Others scheduled to appear on panels include College Football Playoff Executive Director Bill Hancock and American Football Coaches Association head Grant Teaff.

The FBA meetings traditionally were hosted by the city that would be home to that season’s BCS National Championship Game. With this being the first year of the College Football Playoff (CFP), the FBA Executive Committee instead brought the event to Entertainment Capital of the World for the first time.

“We are honored to be able to host this prestigious gathering,” said Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl Associate Executive Director John Saccenti. “We love to show off our great city and all it has to offer to our two teams each December and now we get to show it off to everyone in the bowl world. It’s going to be a great week.”
