4,100 End Zone Tickets Going On Sale

LAS VEGAS - No teams have been invited and kickoff is over a month away but the 15th Annual Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl sold out of its allotment of tickets on Wednesday and is taking the next step to help accommodate what is sure to be a record crowd.

Executive Director Tina Kunzer-Murphy announced that because the game is already technically sold-out, she has ordered the installation of 4,100 temporary bleachers in the end zones. The new configuration will be made up of 3,500 seats in Sam Boyd Stadium's North End Zone and 600 more seats in the South End Zone.

The additional end zone tickets will go on sale Thursday at 9 a.m. PT (Nov. 16) for $30 each and fans can purchase them by going online at, calling 739-FANS or toll-free at (866) 388-3267 or in person at the Thomas & Mack Center Box Office on the UNLV campus.

Last year's Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl between Cal and BYU drew the fourth-largest crowd in stadium history at 40,053.

''After last season's record-setting game, the response this year has been simply phenomenal from fans and businesses from all over Southern Nevada,'' Kunzer-Murphy said. ''In a city full of parties, this game has now become a must-go event.''

The Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl, which is an ESPN Regional Television (ERT) owned-and-operated event, will be played Thursday, Dec. 21, beginning at 5 p.m. PST at Sam Boyd Stadium. The game will once again be shown nationally on ESPN and ESPNHD.
