PIONEER LAS VEGAS BOWL TICKETS SET TO GO ON SALE


LAS VEGAS - With the event looking to enjoy its fourth consecutive sellout, fans will want to act quickly to purchase their tickets for the 2008 Pioneer Las Vegas Bowl when they go on sale starting the morning of June 2.

Pioneer Las Vegas Bowl XVII will be played on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at Sam Boyd Stadium and begin at 5 p.m. PST. The Pioneer Las Vegas Bowl, which is an ESPN Regional Television (ERT) owned-and-operated event, will once again be broadcast nationally on ESPN and ESPNHD and feature the No. 1 pick from the Mountain West Conference vs. the fourth-place team from the Pacific-10 Conference.

Last year's BYU 17-16 victory over UCLA in the 16th edition of the Pioneer Las Vegas Bowl came before a crowd of 40,712, which was the second-largest crowd in the game's history. Breaking all previous records, Executive Director Tina Kunzer-Murphy announced that the bowl had sold out of tickets to the public on October 17 ? a full two months before kickoff.
