Boyz II Men To Perform National Anthem At Bowl Game

Pregame festivities also include Kristen Hertzenberg of Phantom, Nellis Air Force Base fly-over

LAS VEGAS - Four-time Grammy-winning R&B group Boyz II Men will perform the national anthem before the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas on Dec. 22, game organizers announced Wednesday.

Boyz II Men, which just opened a four-week run at Flamingo Las Vegas on the Strip with their special holiday show, will sing the ''Star Spangled Banner'' at Sam Boyd Stadium just minutes before the 5 p.m. kickoff between No. 10 Boise State and No. 19 Utah in what is the most anticipated matchup in the game's nearly two-decade history.

That performance will be preceded by a rendition of ''God Bless America'' by Ms. Kristen Hertzenberg, who is a cast member of Phantom ? The Las Vegas Spectacular at the Venetian Resort Hotel. Pregame festivities will also include a stadium fly-over using an F-22 Raptor and an F-15 Eagle aircraft by the 57th Wing based at Las Vegas' Nellis Air Force Base.

Formed in 1990, Boyz II Men has continued to make successful albums, sell out stadiums worldwide and keep a vast fan base over the course of 20 years. Best known for their heartfelt hits such as ''End of the Road'' and ''A Song for Mama,'' the all male group has sold more than 60 million records. The harmonic ensemble is comprised of Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman and Wanya Morris.

The MAACO Bowl Las Vegas, which is owned and operated by ESPN Regional Television (ERT), will be televised nationally on ESPN HD.
