Dan Hanneke Named New Executive Director

Longtime Las Vegas businessman takes over bowl.


LAS VEGAS - ESPN has announced the hiring of Dan Hanneke as Executive Director of the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas. A 21-year veteran of Anheuser-Busch, Hanneke will oversee all aspects of the 20-year-old December bowl game.


The 2012 MAACO Bowl Las Vegas will be played Saturday, Dec. 22 at 12:30 p.m. PT at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas.


Hanneke began his professional career in 1982 with Anheuser-Busch Inc. and spent the next 21 years in various sales and marketing positions throughout the United States to include National Retail Sales, Field Sales and Sports Marketing.

For the past eight years, Hanneke was the Vice President and General Manager of the Anheuser-Busch wholesaler in Las Vegas. He was responsible for the overall daily operation of the distributor, including management of personnel, budgets and sales of the company. He has forged valuable relationships with key business professionals and organizations in Las Vegas.

The 2012 game will be the 21st matchup for the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas. It will feature teams from the Mountain West and the Pac-12 Conference. Last year's game saw Boise State defeat Arizona State by a 56-24 score.
